Album Review: ‘Celebration Rock’ by Japandroids

japandroids is really good. i’m pretty sure that i mostly like them because all of my friands are really in love with them right now. it’s not that i would dislike them if my friands didn’t love them, it’s just that i love them more because of it. this album is great. i really liked ‘post nothing’ a ton and i think this comes pretty close to it. might be better, i’m not sure. i’ve only listened once but it was pretty great on the first listen. this will top many people’s ‘best of’ lists i feel.

this garage-y song would probably be good in an extreme-sports-themed Disney Channel Original movie. the fame from said movie would catapult this band into a somewhat famous but mostly overlooked Warner Bros. film. and eventually on into a very happie montage from How I Met Your Mother. get it while it’s still cool.

bay area band dangermaker released their first full-length at the beginning of march. this is a real rock and roll album. like in the movies. i was trying to think of somebody to compare them to and i couldn’t really come up with anybody in particular. i don’t think that’s a bad thing. i don’t know why we always feel inclined to say that this band sounds like that band when trying to convince somebody to listen to something. really, like, just listen to this because i say it’s worth a listen.

(ok i might compare them to a darker anberlin or inxs or something but ‘take that with a grain of salt’ ok idk)
